Glen Eira Unit
The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Glen Eira Unit is a volunteer-based emergency management organisation comprising approximately 40 members. We are one of 149 volunteer VICSES units in Victoria.
Based in the City of Glen Eira, we provide an emergency response capability across the municipality. Responding to requests for assistance from the residents of the Glen Eira community, we undertake rescues, respond to storm and flood incidents, attend to damaged buildings and structure collapses, undertake searches and provide assistance to other emergency service organisations including Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade.
The highly-trained unit is available to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week and in all weather conditions. Community Education is another critical aspect to our role in the community, as we strive to build community resilience around major emergencies including storms, floods, tsunamis and earthquakes.
