Glen Eira SES volunteers deployed to Whitehorse and Hastings in response to storms
Glen Eira SES volunteers have provided assistance to community members in need during deployments to Whitehorse and Hastings in response to the recent storms.
Glen Eira SES volunteers have been busy responding to requests for assistance from the community during operational deployments to Whitehorse and Hastings. A number of Glen Eira crews have been deployed in support of Whitehorse and Hastings Units in response to wild storms that have lashed those areas.
The majority of the tasks involved trees down over roads and on buildings. Some local residents were significantly impacted by the event and were most grateful for the assistance provided by the Glen Eira crews. Luckily, the Glen Eira area escaped the brunt of the damage and only a few requests for assistance were received locally.
Unit Controller, Bhav Selvalingam, praised the efforts of Glen Eira volunteers noting that they had made a valuable contribution to the emergency response for the event and worked tirelessly during difficult weather conditions.
